The globalization of markets in recent years has led to an increase in trade between countries. At times, wood packaging material has served as a conduit for the introduction and spread of harmful organisms. It has therefore become necessary to reduce the risk of potential infestations by implementing certain phytosanitary measures to prevent potential economic and environmental impacts on the world’s forest resources.

FSC

The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification guarantees that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that comply with strict environmental, social, and economic standards. It consists of two main certifications: Forest Management (for forests) and Chain of Custody (for companies). The latter ensures traceability throughout the entire supply chain.

PEFC

The PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) certification guarantees that the wood comes from sustainably managed forests. The system is based on two standards: Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) for forests and Chain of Custody (CoC), which tracks the raw material throughout the entire supply chain to the end consumer.
